I definitely think the reworked one is a huge improvement from the original. I'm having trouble with the legs because in the original figure drawing I did with marker there were so many marks. I plan on further working on the hands, especially the right one and rendering the legs further.

I'm still working on this piece. I really like the way the top face is coming out. The bottom two pieces definitely need to be worked on more. I tried to extend the hair of the top face to take up some of the negative space. Any other suggestions for negative space?

This is my first completed concentration piece. I do not love the idea behind it but that's because it related to my original concentration of "time." Now that my concentration is "gestures" I feel as though I have many more creative options. I like the form of the hand, the finger pointing to the wrist is still really bothering me, I just can't seem to get it right.

Artist statement:
Gestures have the capibility to "speak a thousand words." Body language can contain a message that is much more powerful than spoken words. I feel representing gestures in artwork is a great opportunity for an artist to convey his/her feelings and effectively express a point of view. I am intrigued by gestures because since art does not incorporate spoken words depicting them gives me the opportunity to express my opinions and feelings to the viewer even when I am not present.
